June 2022 marked the official launch of our company MICE DESK and since then we have been characterized not only by our decentralized structure, but also by our unique character. We started out in a design office, followed by a small start-up office in the Felix Suites in Leipzig. Along with our success and growth, the search for the first "real headquarters" began and it felt like a journey with a purpose. Then it was the new office, within walking distance of the main train station in Leipzig, a city that our Managing Director Bernd Fritzges had unexpectedly grown fond of.
Leipzig: A city that inspires
The story of MICE DESK in Leipzig began with a relaxed encounter at the Pentahotel during the coronavirus pandemic. A glass of wine, which was allowed despite strict corona rules, set a chain of joyful events in motion. A spontaneous Christmas party in the summer, followed by the 2022 annual congress of the VDVO (Association of Event Organizers) and the enthusiasm for the Saxon metropolis grew with every visit. With a pinch of humor, Bernd Fritzges emphasized at the inauguration: "And this despite the fact that we still don't have a customer in Leipzig!"

Office inauguration with character
The opening of our new headquarters on 30.11.2023 was all about character - a leitmotif that is deeply rooted in the philosophy of our Managing Director. The evening was characterized by sustainable business relationships based on the principles of the "honorable merchant". Fittingly, the renowned character researcher Walter Rotter was invited, who amazed the guests with his empirically based character analyses. Each guest had the opportunity to have themselves or someone else analyzed, which provided some amazing and enthusiastic moments.

Among the guests were Volker Bremer, Managing Director of Leipzig Tourismus und Marketing, and Florian Foege, Manager of Wirtschaftsförderung Invest Region Leipzig GmbH, who have been following this journey from the very beginning.

In addition, each guest chose a button with a character trait that best suited him or her and immortalized it on a collage in the entrance area of the headquarters.

Some of our team members were also present and described the evening in their own words. "A lovely evening with nice guests in a relaxed atmosphere with great catering and delicious drinks - it couldn't have been better. I really enjoyed the evening and had lots of interesting conversations!" said Katharina Groß, Cluster Team Lead Groups & Events.

And Paula Maitschke, Project Manager Groups & Events, added: "It was really nice to be at the office opening. Katharina and I were lucky enough to be able to talk to every guest personally at the reception. Later we were able to enjoy some really delicious food and Walter Rotter enchanted us all a little with his character analysis and got some very exciting conversations going. All in all, a very successful evening with lots of new and interesting contacts."

We now have almost 30 employees and around 20 hotel clients nationwide and are enjoying continuous growth.
